Biography

My life has been adventurous since the day I was born! In fact, I was born on Easter day, on the beautiful Island of Sicily, the only child born that day in the entire hospital.

Since I was a child I loved dancing, gymnastics, art and posing! Every year at school we used to have some group portraits done and the photographer would instruct us to stand still, but at the last minute I would change my pose and I would always be in trouble with the teachers because the pictures looked strange with everyone standing still and me with my arms up or something like that. I was also turning up with red shoes and patterned tights on the day when these pictures had to be taken with the teachers telling me off but they could not send me home to get changed, so there I was with some funky shoes and clothes while everyone else looked the same. I have always loved to stand out, to be different.
I also joined a dancing group and performed with them as well as doing gymnastics competitions, which were always a disaster because all i cared about was what i was wearing resulting in being disqualified on several occassions. I totally loved performing and always wanted to be photographed. All of this until I was 13 years old!
When I turned 14 one of my girlfriends at school took some pictures of me and sent them to the famous John Casablancas agengy (where Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and all the other supermodels were part of) in Milan. To my surprise they wrote to me and kept on calling my house phone asking me to join them and if I could go to their castings. It was a privilege and honour that such a famous agency was keen to sign me up.
When I moved to London at the age of 19 I was very popular at university and soon a photographer asked me to model for him, I loved every minute. Then a year later I took a job as a part time receptionist at a celebrity hotel and one day a photographer asked me if he could take some pics of me, I said yes and a week later I found myself on the cover of a magazine. That was the beginnning of supermodel Nancy.
